Golden Ticket Clients
Thu, Dec 18, 2008
In the last post apart of our series of 10 ways photographer’s can generate more clients, you learned 14 ways to promote yourself. Today we’ll focus on the clients you may already have, as well as how to build your client list.
People you have already worked with can be your Golden Ticket.
If you’ve been working with people in your target market, then your clients may bring you more business of the same caliber. You don’t want to work with EVERYONE, because not everyone is a good fit for you. Treat your clients like golden tickets. Not everyone can have the privilege of working with you. Make clients feel as if they are part of a special group of people that get offered the golden ticket, and get the opportunity to work with you.
As a photographer, you can market yourself in a way where your pictures are far different than a simple snapshot. Figure out what that is, and don’t go against your standards.
When you have a new service to offer, make sure to contact past clients about it. They may want to do business with you again, or know someone who may need your new service.
Use your e-mail signature to your advantage.
Every outgoing e-mail should have your signature and something that markets your business. It can be a great marketing tool!
Use a page on your website to show your calendar of upcoming shoots, as well as availability you have to schedule for new work.
When you send invoices, you can also send promotions along with them.
When you finish a big project or something news worthy has happened for you in business, tell your clients about it and spread the word!
When you do work for clients, ask them to give you credit when they use it in there advertising, web promotions, etc, etc.
Create promotional materials clients can use to help promote your freelance services. Maybe create a calendar of your best shots, or pictures you did for that client specifically.
Start a newsletter and use e-mail marketing at it’s very best!
Why not contact all your clients and send out promotions all at once, with a click of a button. E-mail marketing can do wonders for your business, you can contact 100’s of people and easily stay in contact with new and recurring clients!
So try it out! Use your current and past clients to leverage getting new clients! Cheers to your success!!

I always felt that photographers would have a different understanding of the look and feel of their own and others website.
Yeah, I often struggle with completely being satisfied with the look of my website, lol!
