L.A.’s Fashion Week

Fashion Week can be a ton of fun, and if you can get access into the fashion shows and events, even better! The first time I attended Fashion Week, I flew to New York to assist a Fashion Photographer. The experience was one I’ll never forget. Attending fashion shows by designers Vera Wang, Heatherette and many others was something every creative person should experience.
This year I attended L.A.’s Fashion Week and was able to get access into a few fashion shows. Although the fashion shows are a lot of fun and inspiring, I have to say that the people I ended up meeting was even more valuable. These people are movers and shakers in the industry, and exchanging information with them was more than I expected.
Of course, I had my handy business cards, however, I made it a point to make a connection with people before handing them my card. Sometimes getting to know someone first and giving them a reason to remember you will go a longer way than just handing someone your business card.

Hey Danielle! If you want to make it to Fashion Week one day, you can! For me, it was about meeting the right people that had some pull with the event. Stay in touch though! When the next one comes around and if I’m able to invite you to come along, I will:)
Cheri, you have been an inspiration to me! Not only do I love this website, but I recently bought your e-book and it’s a great read! Every photographer should know the information you provide in the book! I now have my business cards and set up my DBA. I’m starting to feel official, lol!
