A new social media site has been giving photographers a new way to network! As we all know, social media has taken over our generation and has been the newest adapted form of communicating with people. Social media is powerful and through the internet, we can meet people around the world that we may have never known in our lives any other time.

A new site has recently been introduced to the public that could very well be a match made in heaven. Imagine having the option of meeting and socializing with new people, while also being able to check your other accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and even your Gmail and Yahoo email accounts!

Plus, this site offers an option of having multiple profiles all under one account. No more getting in trouble with your job for the pictures you posted of a party you went to last week! This site allows you to separate your friend profile from your family profile, as well as have a blogging platform and a dating profile!

If you think this is cool, it only gets better! For just $10 a month, you can also have a professional profile and connect with many business minded people that you may want to work with, or they may want to work with you!

Not only that, but unlike any other social media site, this company shares the profit of it’s growth with you! What if you were paid for every friend you have on facebook? You’d have a nice stash in your bank account right about now wouldn’t you?

Members that are bold and GO GOLD for the $10 a month upgrade are not only able to network with other professionals, but they are also in a great position to profit from simply socializing.

Is tonight your night? YourNight is a site that is expected to have over a million users by 2011. The site has only been public for a few months and is already ranking VERY WELL on Alexa.com!

So what are you waiting for? Get your free account, which by the way is INVITE ONLY, at http://www.YourNight.com/CheriAmour and see what all the BUZZ is about.

I almost forgot to tell you, YourNight even has a shopping mall inside the network. Soon members will be able to shop and get an instant discount with stores such as Target, Walmart, Best Buy and 100’s more!

It’s just an all around great situation!

Whatever business you’re in, photography, beauty and skin care, plumbing… It doesn’t matter! YourNight is for everyone! So check it out, and if you’re bold, GO GOLD!

Digital photography never ceases to amaze me. Have you heard of the new Canon DSLR’s? The 5D Mark II was released about 6 months ago, and Canon has recently released the EOS 7D. Another mouth watering product? You be the judge! Below is a review provided by DPReview.com. Enjoy!

Preview based on a pre-production Canon EOS 7D

Canon’s X0D series was, for many years, essentially the default choice for keen enthusiasts, professionals and aspiring-professionals who wanted top-level image quality and functionality without the bulk (or price) of a pro-level camera such as the 1D series. The 10D, 20D and 30D were hugely successful an popular cameras and you didn’t have to spend long shooting with them to understand why. However, like every other sector of the DSLR market, there are some very competitive rivals, in terms of both price and features. Cameras such as Sony’s A700 and Nikon’s D200 and 300 have meant the most recent X0D EOSs have been held to higher standards and have found it a little harder to stand-out.

Which brings us to the 7D, a camera that seems determined to wrestle back the king of APS-C crown. At first glance it looks a lot like the EOS 50D – it’s unmistakably a member of the EOS family – but a closer look shows that this is far from being the gentle refresh that we’re used to seeing in this range. And indeed, this is intended as big brother to the 50D, rather than as a replacement for it.

For a start, the camera is built around a new 18MP sensor, but the thing you’re likely to notice before you even fire a shot is the impressive new viewfinder. 1.0X magnification and 100% coverage offers a noticeable improvement over the 0.95X, 95% finder in the EOS 50D and puts the camera on the same footing as the D300S (Its 0.94X finder ends is essentially the same size, once the focal length multiplier effect of its fractionally larger sensor is taken into account).

However, the 7D isn’t a 50D with a new sensor, viewfinder and revised body – other headline changes include a new AF system with a dedicated processor, dual Digic 4 processors and new shutter mechanism to allow 8fps continuous shooting and the ability to control groups of external flashguns using its built-in flash. However, the updates extend beyond these big-feature changes to include a variety of tweaks, refinements and additions. Make no mistake, Canon wants to be the default choice again.

Key features

18MP APS-C CMOS sensor

8 frames per second continuous shooting

1080p HD video recording with manual controls

3.0 inch Clear View II LCD screen with 920,000 dots

19-point AF system (all cross-type)

1.0x magnification and 100% coverage viewfinder

Wireless flash control

Environmental sealing

Have you heard of all the buzz about the Canon EOS 5D Mark II? Here's some insight about this camera! Check it out!

Canon EOS 5D Mark II

Have you heard all the buzz about Canon’s newest camera. Well I have to say, it’s pretty mouthwatering! The 5D already had some great bells and whistles, but the upgrade is absolutely fantastic. Not only does this camera have up to 21 mega-pixels, but it can also shoot High Definition (HD) of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p) at 30fps!! Wow, now that’s pretty AMAZING to me.

However, when I first heard about it being able to record video, I was skeptical about the quality, but after getting feedback from photgrapher’s that own this camera, my doubts were little to none. The video camera has great quality, and if you’re intereted in doing photography AND video, I would consider investing in this camera!

I’m not affiliated with Canon, in that I don’t receive commissions for speaking highly of their products, but I am a Canon customer and I have had great use in products I’ve purchased from them.

To read the most up to date information on ANY camera, check out DP Review

Here’s 2 great videos that used this camera for shooting the footage! Make sure to check out the website linked to the 1st photographer’s video!
Young Photopreneur’s, I just wanted to give you some insight on LiveBooks.com

Although there are a lot of similar competing sites, I highly recommend looking into this company.

Just like other portfolio websites, you can choose a template and easily upload your pictures, as well as have your own domain name.

So what’s so different about LiveBooks?

Well, I like the fact that industry experts such as art buyers and photography agencies are very familiar with LiveBooks accounts. Even apart from that, most professional photographers I know use this as an extension of their main website, or as their main site period.

I’ve learned that imitating someone you would like to be like one day, can work better than you may think, and maybe a LiveBooks account would be your first step in doing so.

These accounts can be very costly, but if you’re a student you can get an account for a mere $99 a year! Now that’s a great deal, and I would take advantage of it!

Of course, you’ll want to do your homework and compare the pros and cons of this service compared to others, but it’s definitely another option, so it won’t hurt to check it out!

For more information on LiveBooks education accounts, click here!

Looking for a better way to send estimates and invoices to your clients, or prospects? BlinkBid may be your answer!

As a professional photographer, you need to make sure your professional image is always just as good as your competition, or better. The way you conduct business along with your personality, will go a long way with people wanting to work with you.

Every aspect of your business should have a high standard.

Your business cards, letterhead, website, and even your invoices and estimates should have a level of high standard.

People want to know that you’re knowledgeable about your profession. All of my clients, and other photographer’s I know, have clients that will request an estimate before getting hired.

Your estimate will make or break a new deal. You have to be sure not to quote too high, and at the same time, you definitely don’t want to underbid yourself.

A great way in determining how much to charge for a particular shoot is to call around to see what the going rate is. If you have a magazine spread your bidding for, you may want to call photography agents to get a good idea of a ballpark range.

Make sure to do your homework before sending an estimate, so that you have the best possibility of getting the gig.

A great investment is a software made specifically for photographer’s.

It’s called BlinkBid, and it’s a fantastic estimating and invoicing software to use in your business.

It helps to itemize everything for your photo shoot, and also reminds you of the little things you may have forgotten if you didn’t use this helpful software.

I’d recommend every photographer of any level to use this software, not only because it’s extremely easy and useful to use, but it also shows a level of professionalism, which will impress your clients.

So go download you free 14 day trial of BlinkBid to get a feel of how you like it, and if you think it’s something you’ll use time and time again, I’m sure you’ll never regret such an investment!
